The journey to steadfast faith is long,
with many dangerous detours, turnouts,
and opportunities to terminate travel
before reaching the destination
from which eternal joy and peace beckon.
The sojourner must depart from prideful denial,
and proceed from denial to doubt;
from doubt to wondering;
from wondering to hoping;
from hoping to believing; and
from believing to knowing.
And with that knowing
comes ineffable joy and peace...
as well as humble and fond reflection upon the journey.
